ODISS is a specialized version of VIMS that utilizes it's unique and very powerful calendar and scheduling system to assist agencies who have the need to fullfill special dedicated assignments such as sports venues, concerts, private functions and other details that require an outside source to pay for police presence.

ODISS has been in use now successfully for several years with several police agencies who saw how a "slimmed down" version of VIMS could help them better manage the process of posting the need for their police officers to sign up for overtime duty to staff special functions within their community.

Utilizing ODISS has greatly eased the task of doing this while helping to ensure all officers are notified of the over time duty at the same exact time via an automated e-mail broadcast that in turn allows them to register for the assignment with the click of one button. Other functions of ODISS allow administrators of paid off duty assignments to ensure those who are registering are qualified for the assigned slots while limiting how many days in advance an officer can cancel his commitment and automatically moving up others in the "wait list" que to fullfill cancelled slots.
